Blackie's By The Sea

Map & Directions 2118 W. Oceanfront
Newport Beach, CA 92663

OC Weekly's Description

As the name implies, Blackie's By the Sea sits adjacent to the actual beach of Newport Beach. The quaint cash-only bar offers 12 beers on tap, as well as a handful of bottled brews, a full liquor selection and a modest wine list. More than dozen flat-screen TVs line the walls and a couple of pool tables (free on Wednesday and Thursday nights) sit in the back surrounded by life preservers, beer signs, and photos of regulars and the staff. The bar's merchandise, surfboards and novelty license plates hang from the ceiling; antique beer cans and dozens of police and sheriff's patches line the wall behind the bar. There are no drink specials, but domestic drafts are always $3.50. Blackie's provides free chili dogs on Monday nights, and on Wednesday night, you can get all-you-can-eat tacos with the purchase of two drinks.

I enjoy this bar....It does serve cocktails....and has lots of men...!! I also enjoy...has I have a friend who is a bartender there...which adds to the enjoyment!! This is a bar...that I would reccomend to women, who want to meet men, who are laid back, and are into....any kind of sports...!

locals hangout by the Newport Pier. very casual place to drop in for a beer. I don't really think shoes and shirts are required. Hasn't changed much in years including much of the clientele. I drop in every few years and normally see someone I graduated from high school with and I graduated in 73!

Rory, you have something odd on your mind... BBTS is an old surfer and fisherman's bar often frequented by The Duke. Keep your opinionated, low Brow, sexual comments in check son.
