Oporto Cafe in Greenway offers unusual wines and great snacks in a hip, relaxed, cozy atmosphere. The wine list features several selections from Italy and Portugal, and there are tapa-size portions of interesting dishes such as linguiƧa, the Portuguese sausage, empanadas, meatballs in a saffron-tomato sauce and a bacalhau (salt cod) croquette. Lunch includes excellent pizzas and panini sandwiches (try the Italiano, with lots of meats, provolone and arugula).
Although etymologists agree that the word "tapas" comes from the Spanish word tapar, which means "to cover," that's where agreement on the origin of the Spanish snack-stravaganza ends. Seminal cookbo... More »

great tapas menu...
I have been going to Oporto since it opened I believe... It has always been great and the service I have received everytime has been spectacular. The tapas are absolutely delicious and well made. The atmosphere is perfect for a group, single or couple. The bar menu is wonderful and unique with many choices of wines and martinis. Love it!
The food here is really excellent. The smoked salmon and pork vindaloo in particular are highlights.
Oporto has a great selection of tapas at very reasonable prices, even when happy hour isn't in effect. And though the name implies Portugal, the menu reflects the spirit of Spain. Spanish and Portuguese wines pair nicely with a diverse list of meats and cheeses. The small plates here are well apportioned, and the sangria is always a solid choice. Salada do mar, an interesting twist on ceviche, is fresh and generous, and daily specials are usually fantastic if you get there... More »
If you're looking for a swanky wine bar that'll impress a date, Oporto is your place. The tapas here aren't snacks; they're huge. There's nothing better to nibble on while quaffing a glass of wine than the "Oportobello." It's a marinated portobello mushroom topped with spinach and artichoke gratin and finished with white truffle oil. If you're still hungry after that Texas-size "tapa," go for the linguiça oporto com batatas, a Portuguese-style sausage sautéed with onion,... More »
