Description

Jeffrey Chodorow has marked some of the hippest territory in New York. His neo-Japanese inspired restaurant, Ono, is located in the meatpacking district. The ingredients are Japanese, as is the perfectionist execution, but what makes it neo is a creative twist along the way, many dishes are conceptually familiar to us Westerners, like pizza or a porterhouse steak, but the taste is all Japan (i.e., grilled pizza with Japanese eggplant, white miso, and shiitake mushrooms). Of course there is also traditional sushi, maki, and sashimi. And it wouldn't be fabulous New York if foie gras didn't show up on the menu a few times.
