A cozy Portuguese establishment on Coral Way, Old Lisbon offers a refreshing alternative to the dominant Cuban eateries in the area. Chourico assado (grilled Portuguese sausage) and presunto com queijo (prosciutto with Portuguese cheese) are great appetizers for kicking things off. Smart second moves include the bife de churrasco (baby flank steak) and the caldeirada de bacalhau fresca (stewed Norwegian codfish), two selections from the reasonably priced lunch menu. The waitstaff is friendly and accommodating, so don't hesitate to ask for opinions on some of the more adventuresome dishes. The food is heavy on oil and carbs, so be sure to leave room for the pride of Portugal: the heavenly desserts. A serving of the delicia de fátima (egg yolk custard mixed with crumbled Maria cookies and topped with whipped cream) is to die for.
