Description

Slip into bed or on a lounge or deep pillow to "dine" at this nightclub and almost-restaurant on Clematis, where it's form and fun over function. It doesn't take itself too seriously - all the faux artifacts of Middle Eastern digs are playfully interspersed with the furniture, meant for group dining. Noshes range from sushi to hummus and veggie flatbreads. Creative touches, possibly lost on this club crowd, include pomegranate-glazed duck with butterscotch sweet mashed potatoes, or crab cake with corn salsa, candied pancetta and a citrus beurre blanc. The beef's seasoned with Middle Eastern spices for a slider trio, there are a number of kabobs (kafka, anyone?), a gyro, and full sushi menu. A separate hookah menu - all non-tobacco - is on hand. Bartenders here are of the flair variety and are part of the entertainment. Lunch is a relatively quiet buffet, otherwise, it's all about the club vibe.

Off the Hookah is Las Olas Riverfront's dance club, hookah lounge, and waterfront dining wrapped up in one sexy, Egyptian-themed venue. Vegas-style flair bartenders serve the drinks, belly dancers arouse the onlookers, and the Mediterranean and sushi menu tantalizes the taste buds. There are cabana beds throughout the venue; thus, you can ask someone to go to bed without having to go home. Or ask a cutie to munch on the Mediterranean platter and share a banana/honey-flavored hookah (not... More »

Double-apple-flavored smoke churns through the water of an ornate pipe. It passes through lungs and curls from parted lips, finding itself floating through the heavily wrought, massive party complex of Off the Hookah. The smoke clings to the Middle Eastern-inspired curtains, the flamboyant décor, the beautiful furniture. It appears thick and ghostly under the bright spotlights and flashing colors. That scented smoke wafts past the olive-skinned, barely clothed belly dancer as she... More »
