Don't confuse this cozy space with the monster-size place that's known as the dim sum capital of Chinatown. The "Noodle Cafe" offers plenty of choices -- you can order from three different menus -- but something soupy is the path to take, Grasshopper. This might just be the best congee in Seattle. What? You've never heard of congee? It's the quintessential Chinese comfort food, a rice porridge that's swimming with savory objects like duck or Thousand Year Old eggs. (They're not really 1,000 years old, they just look like it.) This is the kind of place where you should look at what other tables are ordering and take that leap of faith based on what looks or smells best. If you're going the congree route, be sure and order the Youtaio, a doughnut-like pastry that's great for dunking.
