At Let It Roll Bowl in Sunnyslope, there are plenty of lanes, a lounge with full bar and psychedelic art, and most important of all, Oaxaca Restaurant. You can pick from reasonably priced standards like tacos, burritos, and enchiladas. But why would you when you can also have regional specialties like molotes (deep-fried fritters stuffed with potatoes and chorizo) and tlayuda (Mexican pizza)? None of it costs more than $8, and the entrées include black or red mole, stuffed chiles, gorditas, and green or red ribs. In addition to the outstanding mole, what really makes Oaxaqueños happy are the chapulines, or edible crickets, with a texture like popcorn and a flavor reminiscent of tangy salt and vinegar chips. On the other end of the spectrum, Oaxaca Restaurant also serves typical American food like pizza and burgers because it is, after all, in a bowling alley.
