Description

Cozy red booths and wood-laminate tables provide the decor, along with pizza-related wall cartoons by David Horsey (example: A toothless hockey player says to another, "Look what you did to my teeth! How am I gonna eat pizza now?!?"). The friendly backward-capped UW student servers, visibly amped about the Huskies game on TV, will make sure your pint glasses of Manny's and Hale's Cream Ale are never empty. The Northlake Tavern is proud to tell you that its small pie weighs more than two-and-a-half pounds and easily feeds two people. A large pie weighs over six pounds, almost as much as a newborn. If you're feeling guilty at all that goodness, order the whole wheat crust. You have the option of ordering your pie unbaked if you fancy yourself a pizzaiolo (pizza baker). Toppings are pretty standard; try the zesty chicken special if you like the idea of fusing a backyard barbeque with a jalapeno-studded pie.

This ain't your thin crust pizza, this ain't your Chicago style deep dish, this is all about an 8 lb pizza that you will need a fork for just to get the stuff that didn't stay on the slice. This is about playing some tunes on the juke box, grabbing a pitcher of PBR, leaving your pretensions outside and splitting a small pizza with that special someone.
