This place continues to produce great special events. I went last year to their Remembering Ray Charles evening of music and dinner. This past week I took my girlfriend to their diner~cabaret, The It Factor. What makes this place special is the combination of great food, strong drinks and an elegant venue. My favorite is the Ella ballroom. It is more "vibey". Marcus, the house mixologist, continues to surprise me with new martinis each time I come in with interesting combinations (i.e., watermelon basil martini, cucumber jalapeno martini). I have read a lot of the reviews on the restaurant (both positive and negative) and thing that is true is that it is hard to know when they are open. I found out that by going on their website, you can check to see when they are open and make a reservation. Thank you Noor for providing a great space for us to come enjoy the best of Pasadena.

I visit bars and restaurants at least 3 nights a week. I heard about a new martini bar in the Paseo Colorado called the Ella, which is actually located within a larger event space called Noor. It was difficult to get a reservation, but when I did, we had a blast. The two bartenders tasted my friends and I on several new martinis they concocted for their martini menu. My three favorites are the "Oye Como Va", the Glass Olive (standard martini) and the "Summer Breeze". The drinks were rounded out by some tasty appetizers including the coconut shrimp and bruschetta. I loved the old Hollywood films they were playing on the screens while downtempo electronica (probably from a Buddha Bar Lounge compilation) was playing through the house system. Parking was easy and the staff there is amazing.
