Description

This glitzy Hong Kong-style spot, decorated with wildly colored plastic furniture, serves triple duty as a bakery, café, and noodle shop. While the dumplings are steamed-only, they're quite good, and there are pastries, dim sum, and bubble tea, too. Toast sandwiches are a specialty, including various combinations of jam, condensed milk, butter, eggs, spam, and peanut butter - with tea, they make a perfect breakfast or afternoon snack. The steamed pork buns are particularly good - white, weightless, and not too sweet. At lunchtime, most patrons make do with a bowl of congee sided with a fried cruller. Baked rice casseroles served after 3 pm.
