The distressed wooden façade offers no clue to the delights within, nor does it even identify the spot as a bar – though one glimpse at the tattooed hipsters emerging will tip you off. Inside, there’s something vaguely Chinese-y about the place, and you’re likely to spot a short menu on nearly every table. This bill of fare highlights homemade noodles that might have been inspired by Xi-an Famous Foods – thick white fettuccine in soups or with toppings, a bit blander than their inspiration, as if someone discovered that, devoid of too much chile oil, nothing is better at settling the stomach and absorbing the byproducts of alcohol consumption. Weather permitting, the backyard is one of best outdoor spaces in Greenpoint.
