This is only the second Argentine pizza parlor we know of in the city, and the proof of the pudding lies in pizza con carne, a luscious pie strewn with cumin-scented ground beef and green olives, in addition to the usual cheese and sauce. The empanadas are similarly estimable, as are the potato croquettes, though much smaller than one would hope for. The Argentine and Italian wine list is reasonably priced, and the menu includes a rather conventional list of Italian pastas. Hint: Don't miss the dulce de leche dessert.
Fifty percent of Argentineans are of Italian extraction, producing lots of Italo-Argentine culinary oddities. Tomato sauces, for example, often incorporate cream, and at NINA'S, the best pizza features cumin-scented ground beef and green olives, the pimientos poking out like pink tongues. More »
