Village Voice's Description
Any upcoming or established artist will make an appearance at this Village institution, the granddaddy of New York's jazz scene. In the past, Village Vanguard has hosted the likes of John Coltrane and Miles Davis, making it a popular tourist destination. Take Mom and Dad when they visit, and let them pick up the $30 to $35 admission price.
Tips from foursquare
After 30 years—during which time John Coltrane, Miles Davis and Bill Evans grooved here—this basement club still hosts the crème de la crème of mainstream jazz talent. Doors open at 8pm.
Catch a late set in this crowded little basement and know that you've just checked out the best jazz club in the English-speaking world.
Love this club, it's small so you're very intimate with the artist. Plus there's photographs of the jazz greats that played here in the past. Nice, cool vibe.
Home to Jazz for over 70 years and still showcasing some of the best talent in the world. Make sure you arrive early for your reservation – you just might lose your seat.
Come early, wait in line, get the best seat in the house!
