Village Voice's Description

This theater hosts actual works of theater, but it's also home to many of the Horse Trade Theater Group's comedy shows, which include stand-up, sketches, "comedic storytelling," and so much more. Shows vary, but there's at least one a week.

this is a freak show. seriously one of the weirdest mic's i've been to.

it's more like a clique like that other person said, very cliquish and amateur. even the host was young and shallow. obv with daddy issues!! - i couldn't believe the circle of men at least 20yrs older than the host fawning over her - the host try so hard to act like a flirty little girl, even dress like one.... I found this open mic to be very cliquish, very young, and very amateur. The host is ridiculously unprofessional, loose and uneven and rules over the mic like captain of the cheerleading squad. Yes there is a bucket, but it is not random. The host sifts around, calling out people she knows first. If you are new, expect to be on the reserve list. If you are a professional looking... More >>

Get some improv goodness and see Rogue Elephant perform at Under St. Mark's.. every couple Friday's.

  • Little Lord Theater on 09/09/13

True story: we once had to sidestep human feces to get in for our load-in. Ah, the East Village! But don't worry, once inside there's booze for sale and performance for every taste.
