Village Voice's Description
When it comes to pizza in New York, there's generally that which you compare to pizza in Italy, and then there's pizza-New York pizza. Two Boots is the small but fanatic third party of pizza. Many include Cajun flavors, and some are just "alternative." For traditionalists the Bayou Beast (BBQ shrimp, crawfish andouille, jalapeños) might just seem wrong, not to mention the one that has buffalo chicken wings and blue cheese on it. Thankfully, there are also more standard pizzas, like the Newman (soppressata, sweet Italian sausage, ricotta, mozzarella). This is one of several locations in the area. See the website for others: www.twoboots.com.
Tips from foursquare
Which slice do you get? I get the CALZONE (usually with spinach)
Corn-meal crust is often good, especially when paired with their toppings. Good creative vegetarian slices.
Don't leave without a slice of the Bayou Beast.
Love the crusty bottom with cornmeal!
A late night slice of "the dude" and an icy cold brooklyn lager is a perfect late night meal after seeing a show at the mercury lounge.
