Village Voice's Description

With two outdoor pools, three athletic fields and eight basketball courts, thereas plenty of room for the entire family at Thomas Jefferson Recreational Center. Activities and festival events occur here throughout the summer, particularly May, but there is also a holiday season set that occurs in December. Outdoor courts and playgrounds for the kids are also available.

    Did you know? Thomas Jefferson Pool was the second of 11 pools to open in 1936 across the city. About 10,000 people went to the opening ceremony.

    Becareful with the bar bell for the lateral machine, its getting wasted at the metal so if you put too much weight on it, its going to break and you're going to get hurt REAL badly.

  • Check out the Thomas Jefferson Pool, constructed between 1935-37 it was designated in 2007. The cheif architectural feature is the U-shaped bath house, with decorative brickwork and cast stone.
