Village Voice's Description
The once no-manas land of Tribeca may be given over to trillion-dollar lofts and celebrity-funded restaurants; the glammy-meets-seedy New York of Jay McInerneyas Bright Lights, Big City, well and gone. The Odeon still stands through it all, almost like a mini monument to former customers Warhol, Basquiat, and their Bolivian marching powder. A fashionable, moneyed crowd still fills up the banquettes regularly to wolf down $15 brasserie burgers and $9.50 cosmos, that a80s drink of choice.

American Psychos down salmon and steak frites, but the real scene's on the sidewalk. -Andy Cohen, Watch What Happens Live!
Want classic NYC? Then don't miss this still-thriving Tribecainstitution. John Belushi famously cooked his own burgers at the Frenchbrasserie, once the go-to hangout for SNL in its heyday.
As art became an industry in the 1980s, this is where its participants drank and ate (and smoked). Though Mary Boone and Julian Schnabel are gone, its French bistro food is still solid.
“Odeon Margarita...YUM! oh, and they have food too!” – Renee, Setup Squad
Chef Patrick Clark put Odeon on the map in 1980, when Tribeca was just a desolate warehouse district.
