The Grey Dog's Coffee - CLOSED
New York, NY 10014
Village Voice's Description
This small coffee shop was founded in the West Village way back in 1996 and it definitely carries a hint of 90s counterculture with it. Inside, exposed brick walls, chalkboards menus and assorted artwork and bric-a-brac fill the homey space. The staff and the customers tend to be on the younger side; it¹s not unusual to see the row of two-tops filled with students perusing textbooks or magazines. Lack of Wi-Fi means the place actually has a lively, conversational vibe instead the feel of a hushed office. Plenty of people come in for lunch or a casual dinner. Choose from a selection of burgers, salads and around 20 different sandwiches ranging from roasted turkey with brie and tomato to hummus with Swiss cheese, avocado, tomato and lettuce. There is also a small breakfast menu consisting of egg and oatmeal dishes to go along with your morning coffee.âKeith Wagstaff
