Village Voice's Description
At his pan-Asian Park Slope eatery, Top Chef (and Buddakan) alum Dale Talde elevates beloved takeout standards. Youâll find fancified shrimp toast alongside pork-and-pretzel dumplings, but one of the best examples plays on tom kha gai, the Thai coconut-milk-based soup flavored with galangal and lemongrass. Here, lobster chunks and corn kernels up the ante. Meanwhile, vegetarian ramen reinvents the formula with slabs of smoked tofu, fingerling potatoes, and plump shiitake mushrooms. And how can you ever go back to old pad Thai after shoveling down a version made with bacon and deep-fried oysters? Beat that, Seamless.com.
Tips from foursquare
Warm up with the Frank's-sauced Pad Thai that'll pad your midsection with its crispy oysters and bacon. Then cool off with a shaved ice sundae topped with Cap'n Crunch.
Oh my god. Just order everything. We did.
the pretzel & pork dumplings, oyster & bacon pad thai and fried chicken w/grapes were the standouts. great vibe, great bar selection and most seats come with a view of Dale slaying it behind the line.
Save some room for halo halo!
Gotta go here for brunch - owner and chef, Dale Talde, used to work at Morimoto NYC, then was head chef at Buddakan NYC, went on Top Chef, then opened this restaurant in BK
