Village Voice's Description
Like its rivals OfficeMax and Office Depot, Staples is a bland, utilitarian big-box supply store that stocks a bewildering array of reasonably-priced merchandise, from scissors to scanners. Tip: they sometimes have ridiculous deals on CD-Rs, so snap up a spindle of 50 or 100 the next time you're there. The furniture section is mostly tacky particle-board-and-veneer modular stuff and ugly 1970s metal filing cabinets, but they do the job if you're in a pinch.
Tips from foursquare
Don't bother trying to print anything here. The employees are either sadistic or extremely overworked & backed up. Every time I've been to get a document printed off, they give a wait time of hours.
Plug your iPhone, Blackberry or Android phone to one of the available work stations
If the copy center is to slow or the wait is to long, walk 2 blocks down 14th st to 6th ave. The friendly people at the staples copy shop always do a great job and on time! They are the best!
Very kind and efficient cashiers. Other staff is hit or miss. Mac owners know your stuff or they'll sell you PC compatible only gear.
The only place in Union Square that has an outlet to charge my phone!
