Village Voice's Description

New York's only Scottish restaurant serves mainly steaks, salads, and oysters. But look around the corners of the menu for such Highland specialties as haggis, an accumulation of diced organs mixed with oatmeal and onions and stuffed into a sheep's stomach. While the original recipe usually calls for slicing, St. Andrews's version has been removed from the casing and is served in the traditional manner with "neeps and tatties"-mashed turnips and potatoes, which are Frisbee-d above and below the pile of meat. It tastes like a more delicious shepherd's pie.

    If you like single malt scotch, this is a haven in midtown. Their list is amazing and the atmosphere is perfect.

    There aren't a hell of a lot of Scottish places around, but we dote on St. Andrews, a golf-themed gastro-pub where you can get a deconstructed form of haggis (lamb stomach with organ-meat stuffing) that won't send you screaming for the door.
