Description

Village Voice's Description

This off-the-beaten-path mainland Greek boasts "the best souvlaki in town," but it's the gyro that keeps us coming back. The moist herby meat is ensconced in an exemplary thick pita that, as a result of the volume of meat and vegetable matter, only wraps around half the bulging sandwich. Leaving a burning sensation on the lips, the garlicky yogurt sauce puts the whole thing over the top, and the accompanying fries are as good as any in town, made from fresh potatoes with the skin still adhering. Another don't miss selection is the made-to-order feta pie.

Tips from foursquare

  • Kaity N. on 07/23/11

Most friendly family owned greek restaurant. The garden salad is simple and amazing.

  • The Corcoran Group on 04/30/11

Greek restaurant that has been around for ages and has consistently served the most amazing Souvlaki and Gyros in LARGE portions. Ignore the eclectic d├ęcor.

  • Alina on 07/27/10

Two chicken gyros and an order of fries will feed you for days.

  • Ilene B. on 09/03/13

Absolutely DELISH!!! The grilled octopus is out of this world and the gyro plate is the best!!!

  • Lisa Marie D. on 05/10/13

Food is amazing. I wish I could say the same for the service.
