Village Voice's Description

Pick this Midwood Turk and enjoy the bizarre wall-sized mural (bigger-than-life tents, camels, and belly-dancers) in addition to some of the best kebabs in town. Our favorite is the beyti kebab-lamb with sweet and hot red peppers chopped using an ancient method featuring a chef brandishing a dangerous knife in each hand. The meze (mainly vegetarian appetizers) are fresh and well prepared, and even the charcoal-grilled poultry is still moist and flavorful. Formerly known as Sahara Palace, it's one of the top Turks in town, and considerably cheaper than most.

As far as Turkish restaurants go, this is by far the best one.

Definitely get the hummus dip for the bread.

The sahara bread is huge! Much heartier than a pita.
