This is Brooklynas only zoo and it sits in the east section of Prospect Park off Flatbush Ave. In 1989 the zoo underwent a massive renovation, replacing bars and cages with more natural environments.

This 12 acre zoo opened on July 3, 1935 as a part of a larger revitalization program of city parks, playgrounds and zoos. The zoo presents three themed exhibition venues.
