Village Voice's Description
This roadhouse-influenced Park Slope hangout lives up to its name. Expect elevated bar food like chicken wings, chili con carne, or a pulled pork sandwich. Heartier appetites can feast on a half or full rack of St. Louis ribs, shrimp po’boys, or a namesake-inspired porky-melt. Fans of Top Chef might also catch a glimpse of former contestant Dale Talde manning the griddle. Late-night crowds can get rowdy (perhaps roused by the taxidermied walls), but the spot caters to the child-teeming neighborhood earlier in the evening.
Tips from foursquare
Dave Talde's (the eponymous owner of Talde) new whiskey and beer bar, with 25 beers on tap and a menu of drunk food: burgers, fried chicken, shrimp po' boys, chili con carne.
Who doesn't enjoy a good basket of chicken nuggets? No one - that's who. These are super tasty but be warned, they're mad spicy.
The cheeseburger, a thin Black Angus patty—charred on the griddle—is draped in oozing American cheese, then nestled into a squishy roll with chopped onions, pickles, mustard and ketchup.
The budget eats at Dale Talde’s honky-tonk are a welcome sight. Before knocking back slugs of Pappy Van Winkle, line your belly with lowbrow chow like a griddled burger with oozing American cheese.
The Porky Melt is probably one of the best BBQ sandwiches we've had in a long time - but just about everything on the menu is awesome.
