Pio Pio Riko
Brooklyn, NY 11222
Village Voice's Description
Styling itself "El toque del pollo Peruano," this rotisserie specializes in chicken rubbed with a vaguely Chinese combination of spices, like dozens of other places in Queens and Manhattan. But not only is the location unique, so is the menu, which adds many Peruvian staples to the standard menu of poultry, steak, fried yuca, and avocado salads. The ceviches are marvelous-way-citrusy concentrations of seafood smothered in purple onions, and you can also get potatoes Huancaina style in creamy cheese sauce, as well as tallarin, the Peruvian version of lo mein. And the hot sauce called aji is actually hot.
Tips from foursquare
Go to Pio Pio Riko and order the sweet plantains.

Pollo entero...best rotisserie chicken in Greenpoint. Ask for a pint of the green sauce--$5 and cracktastic!
Chicken combo with fries & salad is Pio Pio Ridiculously tasty and cheap!
This place is totally disgusting. I used to live two doors down, and am convinced all the rats in Greenpoint are born here.
