Village Voice's Description

You may remember it from the opening titles of Late Night With David Letterman: the Old Town Bar, a fixture in the Flatiron District since 1892. It's far more accessible than the overcrowded McSorley's, and the range of drinks is more copacetic as well. Remember that a quorum of three is required most times of day for the handsome dark-wood booths, and act accordingly. Note: The bar food is a notch above the usual.

Great ambiance. Old wood bar, one of the oldest in the city. No pretentious posers here, although when they do come, they pick up the vibe and leave. This is a place to sit and talk w/ friends, very attentive mixologists will turn on you if you're indecisive. Know what you want ! After a few, want the hot dogs !

In a city known for hot dogs, the hefty all-beef Sabrett at Old Town Bar reigns supreme. It’s one of our #100best dishes and drinks of 2011.

One of our top 10 Manhattan bars- Good beer, great burger, no sawdust, and urinals that make you look forward to breaking the seal.

This place was a speakeasy during Prohibition called Craig's Restaurant. Want proof? Check out the booths that have seats that lift up in case you need to hide your booze quickly from the authorities.

Winner of Best Wings in the Village Voice 2011 Best Of issue! Wings done right, served in a dark Victorian bar - where no one can see the sauce on your face.
