Village Voice's Description

The decor at this old favorite hasnat changed since 1932, but that doesnat stop the young hipster crowd from frequenting for $2.50 beers and a crack at the indie- and country-heavy jukebox. (Well, there's one thing at O'Connor's that actually sees a little rotation.) Order off the strict menu of bottled Bud, Heineken, and Guinness, and you've come to the wrong place. O'Connor's is about keeping it simpleacrusty worn booths, funky bathrooms and all.

Tips from foursquare

This place might be called Bark Hot Dogs (and the hot dogs DO rule), but on your second visit please, for the love of gawd, order the burger.

  • Metromix on 07/15/10

The hot dogs are made from a combo of pork and beef and then basted in smoked-lard butter. Holy shit!

  • Village Voice on 08/31/10

Get the pickle dog-a Hartmann's frank which is boiled, basted with butter and lard, and then topped it with three pickloid substances: brine-pickle spears, sliced dill pickles, & a sweet pickle relish

The Six Point Bark Red Ale is specially brewed just for Bark, and it's delicious!

  • Alex R. on 04/12/10

Be sure to have the Pork Belly sandwich.
