Description

Village Voice's Description

This corporate-ish chain gym has nine locations across the lower half of Manhattan. While that might be a turn-off to alt-fitness aficionado, when it comes down to it, what that means is a surplus of equipment, convenience, and too many classes per day to make excuses about missing. Pools, basketball and racquetball courts, and rock walls are some of the facilities included with membership. There's also nutrition planning, massage, and personal training among other extra services. For the squeezing-it-in-after-work sect, it's gets the job done.

Merchant's Description

New York Health & Racquet Club’s 21st Street location is the newest of our clubs, featuring state-of-the-art cardio and strength training equipment, separate studios and a pool artfully designed to be viewed from street level. A unique glass staircase provides a focal point for this Gramercy Park location and plays up the club’s great natural light – a hallmark of most NYHRC locations.

Entering the locker room is like going to Carrie Mathison's apartment

  • Jazmin H. on 04/03/12

Try Zumba with Roxanne on Tuesdays for a totally fun sweat drencher. Or don't because the class is too full ;)

  • Nikki M. on 04/29/10

Take Rosa Puerto's spin class 7am on Thursdays! Great music, great workout!

  • Christian B. on 02/23/12

If you opt for a trainer, opt for Jared. He's the best and a beast!
