Village Voice's Description

The New York Hall of Science is appropriately located at the site of the 1964 Worldas Fair, which is in Flushing Meadows Park. And this is also the place where that big ugly alien bug, played appropriately by Vincent DaOnofrio, tried to steal his spaceship in Men in Black

. The only hands-on science museum in the city, NYHS is a good place to get down and dirty. Admission is cheap and you get to see all the creepy microbes that live on your hands.

Tips from foursquare

  • NASA on 12/07/10

Play a round of Rocket Park Mini Golf while you're here. Each hole demonstrates science concepts that NASA uses to explore space, like propulsion, gravity, escape velocity & more. A fun way to learn!

  • The Corcoran Group on 12/12/11

A perfect place for the family to spend an afternoon – play an educational round of mini golf or let the kids frolic in the playground. It’s definitely crowded during the weekends.

  • Queens Museum on 11/08/11

#StaffPick Lauren (Education): This is a great place for parents. Why? Kids of a wide age range (around 2 - 12) are so engaged. As a parent, it's a very low key, stress free place to take your kids.

  • NYC Parks on 07/30/13

If you bring your kids to the NY Hall of Science, be sure to check out the wildly inventive playground right outside.
