New York, NY 10013
Village Voice's Description
This is Jehangir Mehta's follow-up to Graffiti, located on the ground floor of the Duane Street Hotel. Small plates keep company with larger, main dish portions on the menu, and eclectic influences fly--you might eat simple shrimp kabobs seasoned with Indian kalonji seeds, or slurp oysters encrusted with pop rocks. The lamb shank in an aromatic, sweetish masala paste is a good choice, as is the coarsely chopped beef tartare with avocado sorbet.
Tips from foursquare
The food here is ok. Nothing stands out. As far as NYC restaurants go, this is a fail. Cute atmosphere though.
You may recognize Chef Jehangir Mehta from his appearances on Iron Chef America & Next Iron Chef. He's a CIA alumnus!
Restaurant at The Duane is excellent...Great cocktails, short wine list but decent selection. Chef and food selections are unique and very tasty...Worthy of a try even if you're not a guest.
The breakfast server is so cute ;P
Definitely order the Truffle Goat Cheese Crab Pizza! The Coconut Chili Fizz cocktail is great too.
