Max Fish - CLOSED
New York, NY 10002
Village Voice's Description
Max Fish doubles as a gallery space for upcoming artists and the art rotates monthly. Apart from the standard bar set up, entertainment consists of a 2 pinball machines and a retro Miss Pacman arcade game. Plenty of light streaming in from the front windows and a severe Antonin Artaud meets Jean Michel Basquiat mural by Travis Millard covering the entire bathroom will ensure that you never fall asleep in this jolly little arty neighborhood hangout.
Tips from foursquare
Back in the dodgeball.com days, this spot is where the very first "friend-of-a-friend" message actually worked back in 2005 ("Hey, Mona is across the street and you know Mona thru Brian - say hi!").
Go before it closes! This bar hasn’t changed in a decade, and that’s a good thing! An unpretentious dive bar with a hip crowd.
