Village Voice's Description

The rich comfort food of another era, heavy with animal fats and meaty reductions, is on display at M. Wells Dinette. The restaurant is the second coming of the original M. Wells, created by husband-and-wife team Hugue Dufour and Sarah Obraitis. Menu and portions are designed for the hungry and the brave: Expect offal, blood, and other fatty odds and ends. Doubling as a museum restaurant inside the contemporary gallery and former public school MOMA P.S. 1, the dining room attracts locals and visitors to its communal tables. Unlike at school, the blackboard lists the day’s exciting specials and a short wine list.
