Lucky Jack's Bar & Lounge
New York, NY 10002
Village Voice's Description
For those trying to escape death by hipster smothering in the Lower East Side, there's the new Irish pub Lucky Jack's. Good for a group or simply to drink a lonely pint while spilling your woes to the bartender, Luckys channels the traditional Irish pub, but keeps it real with gently lit exposed light bulbs over the bar and works of art hanging on the exposed brick walls. The space may seem snug in the middle, but don't worry, it widens out again toward the back. Besides, the narrow space may bring you in contact with a fine lad or lassie.
Tips from foursquare
Stick to the drafts & bottles, a pretty straight-forward selection from here & there, but avoid the '80s-relic cocktails.
Bar tenders are super friendly. Great neighborhood joint and a downstairs that's majorly convenient for parties (and FREE)
Matty is the best bartender around! Great place to play late night pool too.
I used to live next door. Once you're a regular at LJs, you're always part o the fam.
Sunday: Matt's bloody mary's are the best I've ever tasted
