Village Voice's Description
If you like assembling entire meals from small plates, then sake bar Kasadela is your place. Begin with a bowl of the enchanting black edamame ("They taste like butter," blurted out the waitress), then proceed to the delectable chicken wings, then, perhaps, some Japanese potato salad, which one-ups the American variety by being crunchier and having more mayo. There is the inevitable portion of miso-soaked black cod, but even better is the salty and slightly charred mackerel. Only the rock shrimp donburi over rice bombed; it was too damn sweet.
Tips from foursquare
Don’t expect any sushi here. The menu is all sake and small plates, like beef tataki with green apple and watercress, or fried tofu with sesame. Word to the wise: devour those chicken wings before any
Almost every dish can be ordered in snack-sized or regular portions—in case you care to taste some of the options before your four-dish dinner.
Incredible flavor palette in every dish! The fried tofu in dashi soy broth is to die for, also the cod and salmon! Also Kimchi and the flash grilled peppers.... So yum.
Start with the best age dashi tofu you've ever had and end with the best tebasaki chicken wings you've ever had!
