Village Voice's Description

Stuart and Christina Burton's cozy East Village fitness facility is one of New York City's last mom and pop gyms. The bodybuilding couple assesses patrons' regimens with a surprisingly personal, old-school approach. It offers the usual roster of classes like yoga, boxing, and pilates but with usually no more than five students each. Equipment may be more limited than the sprawling chains but is usually always available. It's a welcome oasis for the health-conscious amidst countless temptations—restaurants, bars, and clubs—on the nearby Lower East Side. Take the F train to 2nd Avenue.

Tips from foursquare

  • Melody H. on 12/15/10

Love training here. It's not cheap, looking hot and feeling strong doesn't come for free, esp w/pro trainers like Stewie.

Stewie is an awesome trainer! Def check him out!
