Village Voice's Description
Hovering above Havana Central is a giant, blinking, neon palm tree--a kitschy decadence that signals what to expect inside. Naturally, a bouncy Latin ensemble jams out merengue standards right at the entrance, a row of plants and palm trees divide the bar from the restaurant, and an extensive drinks menu provides never-ending variants on the mojito. Who knew blackberry flavoring was an option? Head over and sip a few amid merry suited types and festive tourists.
Tips from foursquare
Unwind here with live music on weekends and solid drinks. If you're hungry, get the ropa vieja.
Come summer or winter (alcohol induced tropical dreams are a thing, right?) suck down the Super Rum Punch. Worth it whatever the weather.
They have two other great locations, but this one is definitely the favorite among my friends!
Tuesday is Empanada Tuesday. $1 empanadas beginning at 4pm. Yes, a dolla. :)
Dad's Day! $12 Bottomless Presidente Light Beer, Tasty Regular Menu & Specials, Hand Rolled Cigars, & Live Music No Cover. June 19, 2011
