Village Voice's Description
By now Crown Heights is well-populated by the growing caste that was priced out of Williamsburg. Franklin Park was one of the Brooklyn neighborhood's first gentrifying bars and possibly integral in the migration of the hip. It's worth a longer subway ride, anyway. In the summer this bar and beer garden is lively and idyllic, picnic tables packed with creative young folk. It features a wide selection of local craft brews on tap, live music nights, DJ weekends, and a particularly popular monthly reading series. For sustenance you can order in from their partner restaurant Dutch Boy Burger.
FP was built in early 2008, from the rubble of a dilapidated mechanics garage (small bar).
We opened the last week of April’08.
Come visit. Make it happen!

Franklin park employees sell drugs on the side and are rude to customers at times i don't know how they are still in business, they got a "C" rating from the city (health dpt,) most bars and restaurants get an "A" very few have a "B" but Franklin park bar has a "C" rating witch can mean that there is rats running loose or who knows what, and they don't even care to change, at $7 a beer and $14 a shot what is this the city the place is dirty and always takes you a while to get a beer the bar tenders just ignore you, most most disturbing is that the bouncers at Franklin park Bar are armed they are armed with guns maybe because they sell drugs i don't know in the past times i was there they randomly kick people out by knocking them down to the floor and shoving them out what happens when the bouncer has a drink and than does not like some one in the crowd and pulls his gun for all of you out there if you had any problems with Franklin park bar please share your stories at the moment Franklin Park Bar is being investigated by the NYPD
Tips from foursquare
Staff Pick! Jillian (Editorial): This place has all the elements that make a bar great: large patio, well-sized dance floor, and weekly trivia.
If you're a beer connoisseur check out their dozen pricey-for-the-’hood drafts, like He’Brew’s crisp Coney Island Lager.
Staff Pick! Will (Membership): This beer garden is perfect year-round. Franklin Park's staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about the rotating selection of mostly-local brews.
Enjoy the huge patio and happy hour with your dog during the week. On the weekends, beware of the bouncer and the crowds.
For those in the Crown Heights / Prospect Heights, this is one of the go to places for cheap booze, friendly folks, and night time fun. Check out their happy hour specials, game room, and DJs
