Village Voice's Description

The original Foragers City Grocer opened in DUMBO in 2005. The husband-and-wife owners also run a farm in Columbia County that provides much of the small shop’s foraged and grown produce, and eggs. Inside, Foragers City Table cooks with these same ingredients, preparing simple, kid-friendly, modern Asian food, developed by California chef Douglas Monsalud. Portions are generous, flavors lean to the sweet side, and dishes like the bright, fermented tea leaf salad and the glazed Berkshire short ribs are real crowd pleasers. Pick up dessert on your way out, from the shop’s well-stocked freezer aisle of artisanal ice creams.
