Village Voice's Description

This new Hell's Kitchen Korean restaurant, Danji, helmed by Hooni Kim, formerly of Masa and Daniel, is a 36-seat jewel box that maximizes every inch of space. Cleverly hidden in drawers under the tables, you"ll find two menus-one featuring traditional dishes like poached sablefish and a delicious japchae (glass noodles with beef and vegetables), and one with more innovative offerings including finger-licking pork belly sliders and kimchi bacon paella with a sunnyside-up egg. Portions are small and meant to be shared, tapas style-only instead of sangria, the accompanying booze is soju or sake. An ideal pre-or-post-theater restaurant that you"ll actually want to return to even when you"ve got no plans to see a show.
