Village Voice's Description

Ben Faremo, the Lemon Ice King of Corona, wakes from his slumber and stares across the street at Corona Pizza, thinking dreamily of the wonderful meatball hero, heaped with melted mozzarella. Then he falls back to sleep.

Go to the Lemon Ice King of Corona and have a peanutbutter Italian ice, then walk over to the Queens Museum of Art and see the Panorama of the City of New York.

Have an ice (any flavor -- I like the tutti frutti) then sit in the park and watch the old guys play bocci. Do they still do that? It's been years.

  • Tracey M. on 04/11/10

Peanut butter is the best. Be adventurous. It's worth it.

  • Serious Eats on 06/10/13

Serving Italian water and cream ices for over 60 years. The lemon is peerless, but many fruit flavors excel. The peanut is especially peanutty and rich. Open during warm weather months.

Best ices in New York, no contest.
