Description

Village Voice's Description

Forget about the phallic sprig of rosemary that garnishes so many of Gotham's dishes; at Cornelia Street Cafe; the food is notable for its taste;not for looking as though it's been fussed over by 1000 tiny elfin hands;and the boudin blanc's the best. Densely toothsome with just a hint of fennel, it goes perfectly with the accompanying slaw of thick strips of red cabbage and a cranberry-apple crisp that continues the sweet-tart theme. There's also a performance cabaret in the nether regions of this spot, dubbed a culinary and cultural landmark by mayoral proclamation in 1987.

Great poetry reading series every other Friday called Son of a Pony- featuring the likes of Anne Waldman.

Nice white tablecloth West Village restaurant. Delicious Belgian Beef ribs. Reasonably priced.

Some great programming here, just be aware that the space is small, narrow, so make reservations ahead of time, and get there early, so you're not too close or too far from the stage. But, always great sound and low-key vibe.

The food is good...but did you forget? You're on Cornelia St. There are much better restaurants worth your time and $$ next door and across the street. Also, service here is el sucko.

Everyone was nice EXCEPT our waitress, young woman short dark hair. We had large group and she got her auto 20%, and was nasty the whole time. Food & drinks were all fantastic, would go back.

    Eggs Benedict are the best!

Get the duck magret but ask them to leave out the rosemary
