Village Voice's Description
Come to Cleopatra's and watch the Red Sox lose during the afternoon, but don't leave just because the game's over. The mood turns to cool when the jazz band kicks in at dusk; order up some Middle Eastern fare to match the sweet new vibe. It's a great little sensual oasis on the UWS.
Tips from foursquare
Rachael Ray makes her way to Cleopatra's Needle, on the Upper West Side in New York, NY, for a Mediterranean meal and live jazz, on Food Network's $40 a Day. Find more tips at FN Local.
Great for live jazz!
Food is awful, but the jazz is great.
Like the creation of Central Park, the effort to acquire the obelisk from Egypt was seen as key to New York's status among the great cities of the world. Thousands attended its erection in 1881.
Delicious, reasonably priced food and great live jazz. The evening jam sessions rock! Martinis are so-so, but it's a terrific value in an intimate setting. (We hate the downtown crowds.)
