Village Voice's Description

A speakeasy from the days of Prohibition, Chumleyas soft lighting and expansive wooden tables cultivate a welcoming atmosphere for people who need to get drunk before taking the next step. The sawdust on the floor will keep your wasted ass from slipping en route to the bathroom, then you can sit back down and incoherently contemplate the importance of the baras literary past, and your place (not) in it. Good luck finding the joint. Chumleyas may have been open for generations, but they still havenat bothered with a sign.
