The Central Park Conservancy was founded in 1980 by a group of dedicated civic and philanthropic leaders. They were determined to end Central Park's dramatic decline in the 1970s and restore it to its former splendor as America's first and foremost major urban public space, as envisioned by its 19th-century designers, Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux. Today, the Conservancy's mission is to restore, manage and enhance Central Park, in partnership with the public, for the enjoyment of present and future generations.
Tips from foursquare
Deliciously good and fashionable! A fav spot in fashionable movies. Be seen here and you might be picked up by an agent…
To avoid waiting for a table in the main dining room, sit at the bar, where the menu choices are the same, while enjoying a draft beer.
Sex and the City happened here. "Don't let him kiss you, that seems to be where you get into trouble." After Big and Carrie fell in love, they fell in the pond.
Order the crabcakes!
If the main menu is out of your price range, pick up a quick bite from the Boathouse’s express café and dine at a lakeside table.
