Description

Village Voice's Description

Basically, Brooklyn Bowl is the Pimp My Ride of music venues. It has a 16-lane bowling alley with big-ass HD TV screens situated above the pins. "Rock. And Roll. Fries" and the "Really Sloppy Joe" are on the Blue Ribbon-supplied menu. And they book wonderfully odd and unexpected novelty shows such as Lebowski Fest, the Regional Air Guitar Championships, and Snoop Dogg. Most of the time, however, the Bowl brings out the latest in indie rock, punctuated by seasonal specialties like Questlove's weekly DJ residency. Their couches are really comfortable, too.

We loved the setup and it was a great venue for shows. And their fried chicken was out of this world... hands down the best chicken I've ever had! I'm from Upstate, NY and can't wait to get back there ASAP.

My 5 year old had a bad slip and fall here. He badly injured his face and needed to go to the emergency room. He nearly broke his cheek. It took 5 days for anyone from Brooklyn Bowl to call us back. Finally we got a call from Steven (D.O.) who quickly stated "were not responsible" and that "Kids just get hurt" . I never expected such terrible guest relations from a place.

16-lane bowling alley, 600-capacity performance venue with live music 7 nights a week. The food is by Blue Ribbon and the fried chicken is NOT to be missed! Home of Lebowski fest! The Dude Abides.

Brooklyn Bowl stakes out expansive new territory, literally and conceptually, in the 23,000-square foot former Hecla Iron Works (1882), one block from the burgeoning waterfront.

  • VH1 on 07/21/10

There’s usually a cover, but if you’re in a large enough group, they may waive it – just ask. Also, you’ve got to get the fried chicken. – Piotr S.

  • Time Out New York on 09/13/10

Check out Lebowski Fest on Nov 4, an annual tribute to the Coen brothers' 1998 stoner masterpiece. Jeff Bridges has been known to show up in the past!

  • Frappuccino on 02/01/11

All the cool kidz are doin’ it. The great nightlife, food, live music and of course bowling scene won’t let you down.
