Description

Village Voice's Description

Named for Oscar Wilde's lover (the owner is a big fan of the writer), this tranquil West Village spot offers the usual bounty of afternoon-appropriate finger sandwiches, scones, and quiches. You'll also find an impressive selection of over 80 teas from l'Âge de Thé, including green, black, white, and rooibos varieties. Best of all, though, are the fancy desserts--try the Darjeeling tart or the Paris Brest. Then grab a book and curl up on one of the armchairs with a cup of Earl Grey and, of course, The Picture of Dorian Gray.

Try something different and order a pot of Tulsi ('Holy Basil') Tea - soothing, caffeine free, & tons of antioxidants. Scones are also a must!

Matcha latte with almond milk and agave... Holler!

Try an Ispahan macaron. A lovely, huge macaron with a center of chopped lychees and rose-flavored cream. The cream and lychee ringed with raspberries. Rose flavored cookie part. Rose petal on top.

The asparagus soup is phenomenal, free wireless for guests, and an excellent cozy atmosphere :)
