Description

Village Voice's Description

Eric and Bruce Bromberg's take on the traditional after-work pub is a sight fancier than most izakayas you might encounter in Japan. But this is Soho, not Tokyo, and the Orchard Street restaurant and lounge certainly bares the Blue Ribbon seal of approval. At upwards of $20, the rolls are well-crafted, but nothing you're not surely paying for. The real draw is the scenester crowd and a decent, mercifully self-explanatory sake menu. Visit during lunch hours when they offer standards like the Blue Ribbon burger and a version of the Blue Ribbon chicken with wasabi honey.

I could eat a pound of the chicken liver mouse on Challah toast, and I don't even like chicken liver. Bonus: the restaurant is huge, comfortable, and great looking.

Fried Chicken Wings + Oxtail & Bone Marrow Fried Rice

I normally hate wasabi, but the honey wasabi sauce that comes with the fried chicken wings is phenomenal.

All of the fried rice dishes are supposed to be great. I can personally attest that the Oxtail & Bone Marrow is fantastic.

Blue Ribbon team opened this Lower East Side spot last night in the Thompson LES hotel. The famous fried chicken comes with wasabi honey and challah toast is topped with chicken liver mousse and miso
