New York, NY 10001
Village Voice's Description
Between 30th and 50th Street, the bar scene is roughly 43 percent Irish. The Blarney Stone, of course, fits into this league of Guinness-guzzling life-long supporters of the color green, with all the qualities you've come to expect from this dependable bar genre, such as the stained-glass light fixtures, the dark beers on tap, and the various decorations in a jagged Celtic font. What differentiates the Blarney Stone, however, is the ultra-convenient location: Walk out of Penn Station and you're only one block away from that beckoning Guinness.
Tips from foursquare
The Music sucks balls
Come here after a football game for $12 pitchers.
Love the music, of course its a juke box so you get to pick music that you like. Love the deals for drinks! I will definitely come back for the food next time!
Lines on upstairs taps are foul. And the lady bartender for NYCSSC was...sad. Didn't serve anyone at a full bar for 10min at a time. Plus, was rude.
The only thing we liked better than the selection of Irish drinks was the corned beef sandwich! Didn’t see a Blarney Stone to kiss however…
