Description

Village Voice's Description

Sit in the rear room, with its mellow yellow walls, skylight, and well spaced tables. The bistro menu features selections from the Mediterranean rim-try mussels Proven├žale, an appetizer of 20 mussels in a sunny tomato broth that could well serve as a main course. Vegetable couscous, with a generous display of grilled vegetables, is also recommended, as is the combination plate of moutabelle, hummus, and white bean brandade. The lunch menu includes an expanded selection of sandwiches, including grilled spicy blackfish, roasted vegetables and goat cheese, and a knockout burger, one of the best in town.

Tips from foursquare

Go to Bar Six and take a pic of the funny note in the bathroom (about employees washing their hands).

They shot many of the restaurant scenes for Julie & Julia here. A great neighborhood spot.

Bar Six lemonade.. YES! But, beware- it's large

  • Patrick H. on 07/22/11

One bathroom smells like an orange creamsicle, the other does not. WHICH WILL YOU CHOOSE?

  • Scott G. on 12/23/10

Very impressed! Try the French onion soup!
